Resources

Here are some of my favorite resources to get you started! Whether you're looking to make more vegan choices or wanting to take the plunge and become completely vegan, you'll find some guidance here.

Favorite Book:

Eating Animals

Jonathon Safron-Foer

A great book that walks you through animal agriculture. The author, who was not vegetarian before writing the book, investigates with an unbiased lens into the world of how the meat that you eat ends up on your plate.

Favorite Cookbook:

Isa Does It!

Isa Chandra

For the more experienced cook, this cookbook will help you take your cooking to the next level. From vegan clam chowder to channa masala, this book will help you learn how to make going vegan look easy.

Favorite Online Resource:

Food Empowerment Project

www.foodispower.org

This organization is amazing! Started by a Chicana 10 years ago, this vegan organization does more than just promote a vegan lifestyle. It also talks about farm worker rights and the rights of those that cultivate the chocolate we love so much. They also have an awesome website that shows you how to make some amazing vegan Mexican recipes, like posole!

Favorite Online Recipe site:

Minimalist Baker

www.minimalistbaker.com

When in doubt, check out Minimalist Baker. She has everything on her website, from how to make your own donuts to making delicious 30 minute meals. If you're stuck on what to make, this website will help you out! The best part is most of her recipes are 10 ingredients or less and with no special cooking tools needed.
